To have the best looking daily makeup, for school, work/office, you have to apply makeup properly from start to finish.
Id show you how in quick easy steps.
1. Makeup must be applied on healthy clean skin. So wash as usual, exfoliate twice a week, tone, and moisturise.

2. Use a foundation primer always before applying foundation. What this does is set your foundation in properly, hold back sweat and allow makeup last longer.

3. Apply foundation, using a foundation wedge sponge. The wedge sponge might ultimately become your best buy for makeup ever. Application of foundation with a wedge is creaseless and toned out.

4. If you have blotches on your face, or blemishes/spots, dot concealer in right after foundation. I have had many clients ask whether to apply concealer before or after foundation. The best way is to apply concealer after foundation. This is because foundation already covers at least 60% of blotches, concealer just covers the rest of it. If you use a concealer first, the idea of using foundation to create a smooth canvas would be flawed

5. Next Apply powder to set foundation in. using either a powder brush or the same wedge sponge you used for foundation.

6. Fill in your already groomed brows with the right shade of brow pencil. For most African american/Black women, the brow pencils vary from different shades of browns. Remember, in filling the brows, what you are doing is creating a beautifully arched brow that is as natural looking as possible. So shade in, dont draw.

7. Apply subtle shades of eyeshadow. For day makeup, you dont want to come off as overly made up or coloured in. So you must use matte eyeshadows in warm palletes that complement your skin tone.

8. Use a pencil or liquid liner to line out just above your lash line, on the crease of your eyes. What this does is to pop out your eyes and balance your entire look. Lining your lower lash line isnt so necessary but if you must be carefully not to shade in too dark.

9. Use a rich lenghtening mascara to emphasize your lashes, sweeping the wand from left to right, in and out till you have got the desired look

10. Apply lipstick and/or gloss to finish up your look. Dab powder again and you are ready to go!

For that perfect daily makeup of yours, for going to work, school, parties, events – for every time you pick up your makeup bag, remember:

1. Moisturizer: Always moisturize skin before applying foundation. This creates a base and allows foundation to glide on smoothly to a perfect finish.

2. Foundations: Must match your skin tone and skin type. That means you should not use foundations for dry skin when you have oily skin. Make sure you get help from a professional at the counter and read labels when you buy your products.

3. Eyebrows: Your eyebrows balance not just your eyes but your entire facial features. Ensure that they are neatly tweezed and groomed by a professional

4. Brow pencils: Fill sparse areas of your eyebrows with pencil colors that complement your hair color. That means for typical African skin tones with hair color ranging from black to light brown – you should fill brows with shades of brown, from dark, medium to light brown depending on how dark your skin is.

5. Eyeshadows: Go soft and natural when applying makeup for the office, school, and daily outings. Bronze and earthy palettes. A blend of two or three eye colors that work together would help pomp up your look.

6. Lip Liners: Please do not line your lips with black colored liners! You must have heard this several times and are still guilty of it. It not only messes up the whole look, it looks totally unnatural. Your lips should exude sensual softness and not scream out of your face. One word of warning for dark skinned women however is that using light shade lipsticks will minimize the size of large lips while darker shades will make lips look larger. Use lip liners that closely match your natural lip line or the lip color you are wearing. Pro tip? Blend your lip color over the lip line using a lip brush or applicator.

7. Blush: This you can do without if you do not know how to apply correctly. We have the misconception that blush should always be pinkish on the cheeks. As a general rule, very dark-skinned women of color do not need blush. However, if you decide to add blush to your makeup, choose from shades of bronze, plum, mauve and wine.

8. Choose either to pump up the look of your eyes or your lips. Don’t do both. That means when you work colors on the eye area, go soft on the lips and vice versa.

9. Brushes: Never do without brushes. They not only make work neater, they help you achieve a professional finish with your makeup. Foundation, powder, eye shadow, lip and eyeliner brushes are the must haves for your personal makeup bag.

10. Keep it simple! Simple works all the time when it comes to makeup. Do not go overboard. You still want to have a natural looking you that is presentable at all times. Stay Be-you-tiful!

Types of Lipstick
Lip color comes in many forms. Among them are:
Lip Liner - Available in pencils and automatic applicators, used to define lips. It also helps in improving lipstick's staying power and preventing "bleeding", particularly with older women.

Lipstick - The main component in lip color, used to shade the majority of the lip surface. May be frosted, glossy, or matte; available in thousands of shades.

Lip Gloss - A shiny lip covering, either colored, frosted, or clear. Gloss may be applied alone or to add shine to traditional lip color.
[edit]How to Apply Lipstick

The right lipstick completes a great look.Apply your lip liner first. Liner should be the same color or a shade slightly lighter than your main lip color -- never darker. Outline your natural lip line. Next, fill in your lips with your lip color. Using a lip brush will help your lipstick stay longer. Add gloss, if desired, and blot your lips with a tissue to remove excess color. Utilize your mirror, everytime, to avoid a rushed, clown-like look.

Tips for Lovely Lips
Looking your best requires a little finesse. For luscious, kissable lips, try the following:

Don't Skip the Liner - Lip liner gives a defined, elegant look as well as preventing lip color "bleeding."
Avoid Orange and Brown Lip Color Shades - They tend to make teeth look yellow.
Store Lip Color in the Refrigerator - I know it sounds weird, but your color will last longer.
Color Outside the Lines - For plumper lips, apply lip color slightly outside of your normal lip line.

Apply Foundation to your Lips - A thin layer of foundation on your lips will increase your lip color's staying power.
Chapstick - Apply a light layer of chapstick under your lip color to increase its staying power. Plus, your lips will be moisturized and protected from the sun.
Another Tip for Lasting Lip Color - Blot your lips after applying, lightly dust with pressed powder and reapply
