To have the best looking daily makeup, for school, work/office, you have to apply makeup properly from start to finish.
Id show you how in quick easy steps.
1. Makeup must be applied on healthy clean skin. So wash as usual, exfoliate twice a week, tone, and moisturise.

2. Use a foundation primer always before applying foundation. What this does is set your foundation in properly, hold back sweat and allow makeup last longer.

3. Apply foundation, using a foundation wedge sponge. The wedge sponge might ultimately become your best buy for makeup ever. Application of foundation with a wedge is creaseless and toned out.

4. If you have blotches on your face, or blemishes/spots, dot concealer in right after foundation. I have had many clients ask whether to apply concealer before or after foundation. The best way is to apply concealer after foundation. This is because foundation already covers at least 60% of blotches, concealer just covers the rest of it. If you use a concealer first, the idea of using foundation to create a smooth canvas would be flawed

5. Next Apply powder to set foundation in. using either a powder brush or the same wedge sponge you used for foundation.

6. Fill in your already groomed brows with the right shade of brow pencil. For most African american/Black women, the brow pencils vary from different shades of browns. Remember, in filling the brows, what you are doing is creating a beautifully arched brow that is as natural looking as possible. So shade in, dont draw.

7. Apply subtle shades of eyeshadow. For day makeup, you dont want to come off as overly made up or coloured in. So you must use matte eyeshadows in warm palletes that complement your skin tone.

8. Use a pencil or liquid liner to line out just above your lash line, on the crease of your eyes. What this does is to pop out your eyes and balance your entire look. Lining your lower lash line isnt so necessary but if you must be carefully not to shade in too dark.

9. Use a rich lenghtening mascara to emphasize your lashes, sweeping the wand from left to right, in and out till you have got the desired look

10. Apply lipstick and/or gloss to finish up your look. Dab powder again and you are ready to go!

As summer temperatures heats up do you find your makeup literally melting down your face? By midday has your perfectly applied makeup fallen victim to the heat and humidity of summer and disappeared? Are you ready to surrender to Mother Nature and stop using any makeup in the summer? Well, now you can chill out, enjoy the summer and with these professional tips used by some of the world’s top makeup artists to look beautiful all summer long.

• Don’t apply makeup for at least 5 minutes after applying moisturizer.

• Use an oil free moisturizer or a moisturizing lotion instead of a cream.

• Use oil free loose powder.

• Apply a light dusting of loose face powder before applying foundation.

• Use a light weight liquid or powder foundation instead of a cream foundation.

• Use a tint moisturizer instead of foundation.

• After foundation and concealer is applied blot any oil built up with a clean tissue press gently into moist areas. This will allow the color to last longer and avoid a cake look.

• Use waterproof products.

• Keep your lip pencils, eye pencils and lipsticks in the refrigerator.

• Before applying eye shadow apply an eye shadow base.

• For long lasting eye color apply powder eye shadow with a damp brush.

• To keep eyeliner in place and color looking fresh, use an eyeliner pencil then go over the pencil with a thin line of eye shadow in the same color .

• Limit mascara to one coat.

• Avoid using mascara on lower lashes.

• After applying your color mascara apply a clear sealant mascara over it.

• For lip color that last; instead of using lipstick, apply lip balm to lips then fill in with lip pencil.

• To set make up and keep make up looking fresh longer spray face with a professional setting spray or a fine mist of water after applying your make up.

Giant Tip
Fast Formula for Fabulousness!
Base, Brows, Lashes & Lips

This is a partial but complete look from top to bottom. Partial doesn’t mean compartmentalized.

Your base: Whatever format of foundation you choose, it should be a color and texture to match to your skin. Color matching will allow you to place your foundation ONLY in problem areas – not ear to ear. This will make your skin sing with minimal product. Texture matching will keep your own personal moisture level uniform. If you have an oilier skin type, and chose an opposite texture format to your base (i.e. dry powder foundation) this will look contrived and patchy since it is so polar from your own skin’s moisture level.

Solution: Choose an oil free liquid foundation that will co-exist with your skins natural glow.

Have your brows groomed by a professional: I personally am a huge fan of traditional trimming and tweezing. Once your natural brow has been assessed and brought up to speed (that LA – Hollywood brow) just a bit of simple finessing with color in the morning will frame a minimal makeup look into a natural beauty.

One minute Mascara application! Wipe your mascara wand with a Kleenex. Too much product loaded on the brush will ensure a lumpy, clumpy drive into the office and potentially impair your driving. It takes very little product to build your lashes…trust me. When the tube gets slightly dry, add a couple of drops of 99% alcohol to the tube. It will help re-liquefy it and kill some bacteria.

Lush up your lips! There is an array of stains & glosses out there like never before. No excuses for a naked mouth. If you have no idea what shade you may indulge in, here are some clues to your new beauty adventure – if your hair color is light, then lighter, softer lips shades are more favorable. If you have darker hair, then more vibrant, richer lips are in place for you. The cooler your hair color is…stay with cooler shades on your mouth. And the warmer your hair color, warm up your smile. If you are not sure on the color status of your do, ask your hairdresser what category you fall in.

Good luck beauties, I’ll be watching.
